Talking 20 rep squat routine

im thinking of going back to basics next week.iwas looking at the 20 rep squat routine widely used in the 1970s the routine is all about compound movements and looks like this.
squat 1x20
pullover1x20
stiff leg d-lifts 1x15
pullover1x20
bench press 2-3x10
bent over row2-3x15
military press2-3x12
going to do this mon-wed-frid,also in the article i read about this it said you could add some isolation exercises to hit the muscles this routine might miss if any one has done this routine could you give me some ideas on which isolation exercises work well with this and how they found the routine.
im going to do this for six weeks followed by some sort of 5x5 routine.

you might add some pull ups and some dips for bi/tri work..

I am about to start a new routine on the StrongLifts 5x5 routine.. I'll let you know how that goes so you can see if you fancy that... (links in signature below)

My brother did the same workout you are on about, He got very good strength gains and size from it. I think his squats for 20 reps went from 85kgs to just over 100kgs in just under two months. The only down point he said was he got bored of doing it! I think its worth a go though will be interested to see how you get on!

It actually looks like a very comprehensive / decent routine. I think it would be a good way to train for a while. Let us now how you get on.
